C\u2019est un oeuvre que Magnus empose comme auteur complet d\u00e8s qu\u2019il a quitt\u00e9 la Maison d\u2019Edition Corno au mois de d\u00e9cembre 1973, laquelle reste toutefois inachev\u00e9e dans les deux derniers fascicules. Roman chinois du tr\u00e9si\u00e8me si\u00e8cle Shui-hu-chuan \u2018\u2019Histoires au bord de l\u2019eau\u2019\u2019 c\u2019est un roman politique, longtemps interdit pendant plusieurs empires jusqu\u2019aux premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es du xx\u00b0si\u00e8cle quand il fut traduit dans une langue europ\u00e9enne.
\nC\u2019est un r\u00e9cit \u00e0 propos de militaires qui \u00e8vitent les injustes punitions imputables \u00e0 la corruption du pouvoir et qui se r\u00e9fugient dans les marais du Liang-shan.
\nLe r\u00e9cit est compose de plusieurs vicissitudes politiques qui s\u2019entrelacent et \u00e0 chacun des protagonistes correspond une nouvelle aventure; \u00e0 la fin, les hors-la-loi deviennent les d\u00e9fenseurs du trone contre les envahisseurs.
\nL\u2019autheur du texte original ne pr\u00e9voit pas de personages f\u00e9minins comme protagnonistes, et qui, quand meme, ne sont pas plusieurs,et seulement esquiss\u00e9s.
\nLe style graphique varie et suit l\u2019evolution stylistique du Maitre qui d\u00e9veloppe le r\u00e9cit comme les auteurs de science-fiction: il s\u2019inspire de \u2018\u2019Flash Gordon\u2019\u2019 et de \u2018\u2019Saturne contre la terre\u2019\u2019, il pass\u00e9 du Moyen Age aux astronefs spatiales. L\u2019adaptation exotique et fantastique se mele \u00e0 des \u00e9l\u00e9ments realists et tecnologiques : il unit l\u2019orient \u00e0 l\u2019occident. George Lucas, quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard choisira des contenus presque les memes pour la saga de Star Wars (1977)<\/p>\n
